Research

How do Bereaved Children and Young People Experience their Relationships with their Friends?

What is this study about?

I am looking for volunteers to take part in a study exploring bereaved children and young people’s experiences with friends. The aim of this is to find out more about the kind of things children and young people have found to be helpful or difficult following a bereavement and the ways in which their friendship relations influenced other aspects of their lives and their overall experience of bereavement. Learning more about their experience will hopefully lead to new approaches and initiatives to support other bereaved children or young people and their friends in the future.

Who can take part?

If your child is between 8-18 years old and they have received bereavement support after going through a bereavement at any point in their life, they are eligible to take part.

What does the research entail?

Your child will be asked to take part in a one off 1-2-1 in person interview where I will ask them about their relationship with their friends and whether they have spoken to them about their bereavement experience. Interviews will last no more than one hour and these can be arranged at a convenient location.
